The Standard SG is Shy Guy's standard and only kart in Mario Kart DS. It features a white frame with a cartoon depiction of Shy Guy's mask as its emblem. It can only be used during Download Play. It shares all of its stats with the Standard YS; it has one of the highest possible accelerations and a high handling, though it also has a low speed, drift, and weight.
Standard SGs driven by Shy Guys also make an appearance as stage hazards on the Figure-8 Circuit stage in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Shy Guys race around the track and damage any fighter that are in their path, though they can be knocked out of the track and return some time later. Additionally, the Standard SGs appear in various colors (including the default white) while the color of the Shy Guys remain red.
