image naming
Hello! Thanks for your help with all the MKT images. One thing I do ask, however, is to try and avoid using hyphens ( - ) in file names if it isn't a part of the image's content. For example, File:MKT Icon Level-boostticket3.png does not need a hyphen and it should not necessarily be used. Conversely, something like File:Cheep-CheepMKDS.png, where a hyphen IS used in the name of the object, is encouraged to have. Thanks a bundle! - Hi. Well, that's how it's written ingame so I left it as is so I think the second example applies to the tickets.GamblerMario (talk) 22:01, October 12, 2019 (EDT)

Moving files
When moving files, please remember to clear up any links connecting to them and mark the redirect for deletion so it shows up in Category:To be deleted and admins can catch it. 20:37, October 16, 2019 (EDT)
RE:Mario Kart Tour Badges images
Alright, will do! From now on if they're behind again, I'll only upload the ones that we know are being used by this tour so that there aren't as many broken file links. Sorry! SwampyGator (talk) 17:13, October 24, 2019 (EDT)

Hello, MariusM. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly use the {{aboutfile}} template. What you were doing looks like this, and it is an inconvenience for other users to fix up the template. It is simple to learn how to format it correctly. The pre-loaded syntax is shown below. {{aboutfile |1=Subject of the image |2=Where you found the image |3=Artist |4=Describe edits, if any |5=Other versions (use file link) }} Just replace the necessary parts with that corresponding information, and remove the entire line for the parameter(s) you don't use. Please consider the above information before uploading more files. If you continue using {{aboutfile}} incorrectly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing. |
Hello, MariusM. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly categorize the file. It's simple to learn how to do so. Just search for the correct category by starting with the following groups:
When uploading, copy the full title of the category and insert it in square brackets into the summary text box below the {{aboutfile}} template, replacing the {{uncategorized}} template entirely. If you're using the upload function from the text editor, simply add the category link to the description. For example, files related to the game Super Mario World would use: [[Category:Super Mario World images]]or [[Category:Super Mario World media files]] Please consider the above information before uploading more files. Keep in mind that some files can belong to multiple categories. Do not put images into the media files category, or vice versa. If you continue uploading files without categorizing them correctly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing. |
Also, be sure to select a licensing template from the drop-down box. 17:41, October 28, 2019 (EDT)
The Hot Wheels images should use Category:Merchandise images and the {{promo-photo}} licence. Any suitable image categories for any upload can be found through the links in the notice above. Mario JC 06:02, December 30, 2021 (EST)

Unfortunately no, that's the version I have as well. SwampyGator (talk) 09:07, November 6, 2019 (EST)

Character Emblems
I noticed you uploaded and . As I don't have access to game files like it seems you do, I was wondering if you could upload the Emblems for the other characters because we are using their cup icons instead. Alternatively if you want to help me but don't have the time, you could send them to me over Discord and I can upload them.

- Do you, by chance, know what the emblems are labeled under? Drew 02:38, November 24, 2019 (EST)
Bowser's Castle
Hey! Just a heads up, in this game, Bowser Castle 1 is referred to as Bowser's Castle 1 now. TrainiaxLet's chat! 18:41, December 4, 2019 (EST)

Avoid adding non-existent placeholder file names to pages until the images have actually been uploaded. Also, for any new article, it's important that you at least provide a brief introduction on what it's about, rather than just including the gallery. Mario JC 08:49, March 31, 2020 (EDT)
Edits to your userspace
This reminder has been overturned by the MarioWiki staff. The original reminder can still be viewed. |
---|
Please stop making many consecutive edits to your userpace and user page on the Super Mario Wiki. This isn't a warning, and it's possible that you made a mistake by accident or without realizing it; this is simply a reminder for your information. If the action continues, then a warning will be issued. Thanks for reading and keep contributing. If you feel this reminder was undeserved, you may appeal it. |
Although it appears that you are trying to be constructive with your userspace edits, I'd just like to remind you that you have been making many more userspace edits than mainspace edits (at least 50 consecutive userspace edits), is considered a level one offense. Similarly, you should be editing a variety of pages instead of just the one page. It's okay if you want to continue to edit your userspace, just try to make sure that that's not all that you are doing. HappyToad (TALK • EDITS) 14:38, October 30, 2020 (EDT)
- In response to what you said over on my talk page, I think that moving your edits over to your sandbox or creating a new subpage may be worth doing, as it would avoid drawing too much attention to these edits again. As I said before, I can tell that you have good intentions, just you had been editing your user page a bit too much! Even though you have been making reasonably major edits, it could also be worth marking your edits as minor seeing as they are just works-in-progress. HappyToad (TALK • EDITS) 14:54, October 30, 2020 (EDT)
- A reminder should be issued if such userspace edits are off-topic and for recreational purposes, and generally {{userspace}} should be issued instead, which the warning policy also states. These edits have consisted entirely of drafts that serve the wiki and the user isn't ready to move to mainspace yet, so I think this reminder was undeserved. Mario JC 20:59, October 30, 2020 (EDT)
Broken Page
Hi, I wanted to ask you something. Basically, the list of tours in Mario Kart Tour page is looking very broken and messy. I think this is a work in progress, but right now, the page looks very weird. Can you help fix that? WildWario (talk) 21:38, September 24, 2021
I've noticed this, too. I would recommend making sure the template is working properly before putting it out for public viewing, because it may have to be reverted to the previous state if it still looks like this. Mario JC 21:44, September 23, 2021 (EDT)

Hot Wheels
Hello, I didn't realize that you're currently handling the Hot Wheels page. Is it okay if I continue uploading the images, or do you want to do the rest yourself? Ray Trace(T|C) 00:42, January 5, 2022 (EST)
Titles
Hello, MariusM! Thanks for your contributions. When writing titles for media like games, films, TV shows, and publications, please remember to italicize them. This is done by placing two straight apostrophes (not quotation marks or curly apostrophes) on both sides of the title, or clicking on the I icon above the text box and typing out the title. For example, typing out ''[[Super Mario Bros.]]'' generates Super Mario Bros.
If you are using a device that uses curly ("smart") punctuation, you may need to disable this function in your device's settings to be able to type out the correct apostrophes. |
