The Smash Ball is an item in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. In order to use its powers, the players have to actually attack the Smash Ball, to a certain extent, and break it open before use. This means they have to both attack the Smash Ball, while at the same time, stopping the opponent from collecting the Smash Ball. By collecting it, the player can trigger the character's Final Smash move. To activate the Smash Ball, simply press the special move button, without any directional input. The item itself is an emblem of the Super Smash Bros. series. After collecting the Smash Ball, the player's character will have a glowing aura around them. Additionally, the screen will dim a bit, except for the character in possession of the Smash Ball.
There is also a Pity Final Smash which is given to the losing player when a point of advantage has reached. When this has happened, the player will reappear after a KO in Final Smash stand-by mode.

A mighty item. Each character has a unique secret technique known as a Final Smash that can only be used when that character acquires a Smash Ball. Use it well, and you'll be one huge step closer to victory. It can turn the battle's tide, help you put the finishing touches on a complete thrashing, or even provide a chaotic finish that's sure to leave you laughing until you cry.
