Astro Goombas are Goombas wearing a protective helmet in Super Mario Galaxy. Because of this protection, they can't be defeated by directly jumping on them. They first must be flipped by a Star Spin and then jumped on. This sub-species of Goomba have a slightly different appearances, having glowing yellow eyes and lacking the two pointy fangs that most types of Goomba posses.
