In the original ''Super Smash Bros.'', if Kirby holds an opponent in his mouth, he would be unable to walk or jump until he spits or swallows the enemy. All he is limited to in movement is to turn around. This was fixed in ''Super Smash Bros. Melee''. If Kirby uses his [[Taunt]](Up Taunt in ''Super Smash Bros. Inhale
The attack in action.

Inhale is the name of Kirby's standard special attack in Super Smash Bros., Super Smash Bros. Melee, and Super Smash Bros. Brawl, as well as King Dedede's standard special attack in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. It is called Swallow in the first two games, but renamed in Super Smash Bros. Brawl as Inhale. When Kirby swallows an opponent, he will copy their standard special attack in the place of Inhale, as well as receiving one of the several Kirby Hats corresponding with whichever opponent he swallowed. This does not work on the following only:

When Kirby swallows one of these enemies, or any enemy for that matter, they can be sent out flying by pressing the Z button.

In the original Super Smash Bros., if Kirby holds an opponent in his mouth, he would be unable to walk or jump until he spits or swallows the enemy. All he is limited to in movement is to turn around. This was fixed in Super Smash Bros. Melee. If Kirby uses his Taunt(Up Taunt in Super Smash Bros. Brawl), he will let go of the power that he gained.

Kirby using King Dedede's Inhale attack.

King Dedede's attack, however, does not copy an opponents power. Rather, it is able to suck in more than one opponent, and fires them back out with incredible force, but nothing more.
