I have been on the Super Mario Boards for a while (eight years, one month, and 23 days as of posting this). Lately since last August I have been posting many more threads in the elimination area, covering never measured before things like months of the year, numbers, and animated movies, so I consider that my qualification as I could come up with original and interesting ideas for polls.

Here are my goals. I think that they would have a positive impact and change.

• I would poll everyone on all different things, not just one or two. Things like ideas for upcoming games, date-based questions (an example of date-based being was Nintendo’s best year in the 2010s, or whether they did better in 2020 or 2021) or what idea for level design suggested by other users would be the best would appear. There would be a vast variety of polls, and on vastly different things.
• Options I would or wouldn’t want people to pick would still be worded neutrally and free of bias, even if I really wanted or didn’t want you to pick them.
• I would allow whoever wanted to be my Vice Chairperson that I felt had the best credibility and credentials after carefully looking everything over.
• Poll Committee eligibility would be determined predominantly by your character. In other words, how hardworking, reliable, trustworthy, but also likable your attitude is. Your record of not constantly having warnings and last warnings would also matter as well.

I think my positive, unbiased attitude and capacity to make interesting opinion measurings would make me a good poll committee member, but any objections to me getting this position would be great to be heard.

Hello! I am SMB, and I am pleased to announce that I am exploring a run for Poll Committee Chairperson. I understand this may appear to be coming from out of left field; however, I have been motivated to run for this position after having had some conversations with folks in the community. These chats brought me back to the times when I led the committee, and upon consideration, I would love to take another crack at it.

To provide some context, back in 2010, I was one of the wiki staff members who advocated for the creation of the Poll Committee. The idea was to provide an interactive element to the Main Page as well as provide another creative outlet for the Super Mario Wiki community. After this project was established, I was elected as the Chairperson of the First, Second, and Fourth Poll Committees. Not only am I happy with the work that my committees did, but I am more proud of the improvements that subsequent committees and chairpersons have accomplished, including opening the committee's membership via applications, strengthening the committee's collaborations within the community, facilitating communication by holding targeted meetings throughout the term, and engaging poll committee members through a rotating leadership system. Over the years, the Poll Committee has advanced its initial ideas of interactivity and creativity; furthermore, it has blossomed into one of the most accessible staff teams in the entire community, hence why I am running.

Throughout the past few years, and especially this year, I have made a more conscious effort to reengage with a community I have considered my online home since 2008. Sometimes I have found it relatively easy to jump back in, and other times I have found it challenging. What motivates me to run is not any sort of past accomplishment; after all, I realize that it is not 2011 anymore. On the contrary, rather than attempting some sort of cocky, ill-fated throwback comeback campaign, I am excited at the prospect of developing new bonds with current members of the modern Super Mario Wiki community. Whether I am elected or not, I am here to stay and am simply honored to have an opportunity to serve our community in the capacity of Poll Committee Chairperson.

I'm going to allow Waluigi Time's campaign to remain here for the moment, and see how things pan out. He and I have discussed the realities of running a campaign like this and he understands a joke campaign cannot win and is willing to respect that and work with us.
