Template:Location-infobox Template:Quote2 The Courtyard is a location in the Lake Kingdom in Super Mario Odyssey. It is a small pool area found at the start of the kingdom. During Mario's initial visit, the stairs connected to the courtyard are broken, though with some quick movement Mario is able to get up to the courtyard as a shortcut, bypassing the tunnel. After peace is restored to the kingdom, the stairs become repaired. Mario may also take the Hat Trampoline on the ledge on the other side of the courtyard to get up here.
There is a small pool of water in the middle of the courtyard, with a painting inside leading to either the Sand Kingdom or Luncheon Kingdom depending on whether the Lake Kingdom or Wooded Kingdom is first visited. Later on, Lakitu can be found fishing in the lake. Mario may capture him and real in the biggest fish in the floor for a Power Moon. Next to the pool is a Checkpoint Flag.
The Lake Kingdom brochure claims the pool has a rich history, having been used to relax and dye cloth and now used for fishing, referring to the hole the painting is found in as a deep end.
Goombas wearing wedding dresses resembling the Lochlady Dress are found around the courtyard. Mario may capture and create a Goomba Tower to find a ledge overlooking the courtyard with four regional coins. After this kingdom's Moon Rock has been opened, Mario may also capture a Goomba and bring it down to Goombette near the Odyssey for a Power Moon.
