Clusters are floating enemies with crystal shells that appear in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, and can be found in the Coal Mines. Clusters are named after star clusters, which is also the source for Star Cruster's name. A stronger variant known as the Pulsar appears in later areas.

Battle

Clusters are always seen in battle with other monsters, and have a high resistance to jump attacks. A Cluster attacks by "shattering" its outer shell into fragments, revealing a small smiling creature; the crystal pieces immediately cover them back up before the foe attacks. The Cluster can also use the Crystal spell as well as Psyche!, a special attack which causes it to self-destruct and instantly down a party member, unless the move is blocked or else nullified by an accessory. The Cluster's Psychopath text alludes to its Psyche! ability.
