Lose the Lunge Fish

Template:Levelbox Lose the Lunge Fish is the seventh level of World 3 found in Yoshi's New Island.

Layout

Yoshi starts the level in a jungle area, with an Egg Plant and a Message Block that warns him about the Lunge Fish. He must jump across treetop platforms to collect Coins and dodge the Lunge Fish. Yoshi then comes across a Shy Guy and a Winged Cloud that contains Stars. A Dizzy Dandy then attacks Yoshi. Next, if Yoshi takes a Warp Pipe, he is dropped into an empty area that begins filling up with water, and he can collect Coins while swimming back up. More treetop platforms follow, along with a Winged Cloud that spawns Coins, and a Warp Pipe leads Yoshi to the next area.

In this area, Yoshi has to avoid many Ball 'n' Chains, and ends up next to an Egg Block and two Tap-Taps. On top of the Egg Block is a hidden Winged Cloud that contains Stars. Next, breaking a Winged Cloud to the right causes water to rise, pushing Yoshi upwards to an area with a Metal Guy. Swallowing it gives Yoshi a Metal Eggdozer, and standing on a platform causes Yoshi to go back into the water. He must navigate back through the Ball 'n' Chains and use the Metal Eggdozer to break a metal block, taking him out of the water and next to the Middle Ring.

A Warp Pipe leads Yoshi back aboveground, where he must avoid the Lunge Fish while jumping across weighted platforms that disappear after being stepped off. Above one platform is a Winged Cloud with a key, which unlocks an optional side area in which Yoshi must navigate across a gap with a paddle wheel, then jump up to reach a Smiley Flower. Outside the key door area, going right takes Yoshi to the Goal Ring.

Smiley Flowers

• Smiley Flower 1: Above the first Dizzy Dandy, in a hidden Winged Cloud, is the first Smiley Flower.
• Smiley Flower 2: This Smiley Flower is located to the right of the Metal Guy pipe.
• Smiley Flower 3: This Smiley Flower is found after breaking the metal block with a Metal Eggdozer.
• Smiley Flower 4: The fourth Smiley Flower is located after the Middle Ring, in a hidden Winged Cloud above the second treetop platform.
• Smiley Flower 5: The fifth and final Smiley Flower is behind a locked door. To find the key, Yoshi has to break a hidden Winged Cloud above a weighted platform. Behind the door is a paddle wheel, and after Yoshi rides it, he can jump on high treetop platforms to reach the Smiley Flower.
