Burn is a status ailment found in three Mario RPG titles to date.
Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga
Using his Fire Bros. attack, Mario can sometimes Burn enemies, making them lose some HP every turn, similar to Poison. A small flame floating above the enemy indicates the condition.
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door
In this game, Burns again behave much the same way as Poison, that is, the character or enemy burned will lose one HP every turn for a number of turns. Burn is indicated by a small flame at the afflicted's feet.
Vivian is capable of inflicting Burns on enemies.
Mario & Luigi: Partners In Time
The Burn status ailment returned in this game with a more dire consequence–if a character is burned, that character will lose some HP every turn and will not be able to attack or dodge. Burn is indicated with the character visibly on fire.
