Template:Species-infobox Cat Goombas(ネコクリボー, Neko Kuribō) are a variant of Goomba from Super Mario 3D World. They mirror Cat Mario as an enemy form.
History
Super Mario 3D World / Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury
Cat Goombas attack by jumping, then diving down, in the same way that Cat Mario can. Like Mario, they meow when doing this. They can be defeated with any attack, sometimes dropping a Super Bell. Cat Goombas are introduced in Super Bell Hill and reappear in Mount Beanpole, Mystery House Melee, and The Great Tower of Bowser Land.
Notably, in the Nintendo Switch port, specifically in Bowser's Fury's Lake Lapcat, there is a variant of Goombas that do resemble Cat Goombas, but their cat appearances are only aesthetic changes and they do not gain any new abilities. As such, the Cat Goombas here behave like regular Goombas (i.e. chasing the player as soon as they spot them), and have their standard brown coloring.
Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker
With Super Bell Hill making an appearance as a retro stage in the Wii U version of Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, Cat Goombas return as well, acting the same as in their previous appearance.
