A proposal section works like a discussion page: comments are brought up and replied to using indents (colons, such as : or ::::) and all edits are signed with the signature code ~~~(~). How To
The times are in EDT, and are set so that the user is more likely to be online at those times (after school, weekend nights). So for example, if a proposal is added on Saturday night at 11:59 PM EDT, the deadline is the next Saturday night at 8:00 PM. If it is indeed a minute later, the deadline is a day plus 15 hours (Sunday), as opposed to a day minus 4 hours. New FeaturesMusicMaybe we should have a section where you can hear the original music and how it has changed over the years to the more recent Mario style. This would require the music to play in Super Mario Wiki instead of just linking to it (like galbiana hotel or whatever it is). I know Wikipedia uses OGG for its music... Thoughts?
Proposer: Macewindu Let's try it!
No way!
CommentsDon't forget to vote yourself, Macewindu. Anyway, being able to compare music through the ages does sound like a good idea, but we should stick with links out of the Wiki. It's just like with videos: people with slow computers may encounter difficulties with the extra features. The Wiki's for everyone, after all. - Walkazo I'm supporting because you have to click on it for it to work or not so you know what you're in for. there's galbadia hotel but it's mostly remixes from what I've seen and also vgmusic.com as reliable sources for me. the songs show the depth and evolution of each game and are certainly a landmark to be included. I'm in support as long as each song doesn't try to start automatically.Madhatter9max 01:31, 18 December 2007 (EST) Right on madhatter9max! I will only support it if each song doesnt try to start automatically. This would get kind of annoying (like how all the videos start on youtube every time a window is openned). Also, The format need not be OGG. I said that only because Wikipedia uses that. If we used MP3 or WMA, or both that would be much better. I currently have all Mario Party 7 gamerip music with me in one folder, so we wouldnt have to download EVERY SINGLE ONE from Galbadia. Macewindu 08:41, 18 December 2007 (EST) Now that the former questions have been addressed, Pokemon DP and Walkazo, any other concerns or do you agree? Two comments: a) GHotel isn't all remixes, some of them are correctly ripped, b) I am not certain if there is an extension to directly play files internally. Wa TC@Y 16:01, 18 December 2007 (EST)
Nope, you covered everything I didn't DP, but thanks for asking! - Walkazo
RemovalsNone at the moment. Splits & MergesNone at the moment. ChangesInactive SysopsAs you may know, some of our System Operators (I won't name anyone) are, how to say this politely... inactive. I think something should be done about that. We have 14 sysops, some of which have been inactive for an extended period of time, this is ridiculous. Yes, you may respond that "But we have a life outside of the computer!", yes, but the problem is that these inactive sysops stopped editing without giving a warning. No message on the userpage, no post on the forum explaining the reasons for theirs inactivity, they just kind of.... dissapered. What will be done with these sysops if the proposal pass? Well, my idea was that the inactive sysops would be depromoted to the lower ranking Pattroler, and if they don't get anymore active after their depromotion, have theirs administrative rights removed entirely. However, this isn't set in stone, if someone have a different opinion on how we should proceed and have strong arguments, I might change my thoughts. What to do (Along who will get the boot) should be discussed after the end of this proposal (If it pass, that's it). Proposer:Blitzwing Do something about these inactive sysops
Let them beCommentsHow do you define "active"? It's an issue. Someone just called me inactive because he hadn't seen me around for a few weeks. The problem was only that I went to bed earlier, and did the work in the afternoon. Just because I'm on Central European Time, I'm doing it while the North Americans are fast asleep. You might want to define "inactive" very carefully. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 12:58, 22 December 2007 (EST)
