Super Smash Bros. Brawl Talk

Rating

What's the source for the ESRB rating? - Cobold (talk · contribs) 13:35, 14 October 2007 (EDT)

I was about to ask the same thing. I'm taking it out until someone answers this question. -Namodod
Okay, so a Toys R Us ad was in my paper today, and it showed the boxart with the "T" rating. I know that's not the best source, but... should we change it? -Namodod
It has been confirmed by this page as well. (Log in as "guest" with password "nintendo". Don't look at the boxart but the stats next to it.) - Cobold (talk · contribs) 12:27, 21 October 2007 (EDT)

Peach Final Smash

Should her final smash have a conjectural name??? Javier12345

No. The creation of articles on conjecturally named subjects from an unreleased game is prevented. In short: no. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 16:10, 14 October 2007 (EDT)
Actually, I think we should mention her Final Smash somewhere. It has been seen in the trailers. We made an article on Super Sonic, so why not this? My Bloody Valentine

Speculated Characters

Shouldn't we put back the speculated characters section? because there's a huge percent of the rumoured characters being playable in brawl.F gLarrynana.gif

A "rumored character" is nothing more than a character someone wants to have in, and that guy just states "XXX is in Brawl!" and it's called a rumor. It's nothing to be in an encyclopedia. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 16:19, 14 October 2007 (EDT)

If there was an official list of the top requested characters, then I'd say include it, but otherwise no.

North Pole and Unknown Stage

Shouldn't the Ice Climber's Stage be mentioned. (In the new trailer, when the Ice Climber's tuant, the floor's icy and there are norhern lights in the background.) SmashWiki calls it North Pole. Also, (I would of brought this up on SmashWiki,(It's more notable there) but I don't have an account) what about the stage in the screenshots here: [1] (Special Moves section) and [2] User:Gowser

Mario's special move sections show Rumble Falls, Delfino Plaza and Battleship Halberd. I don't think we should mention the other stages yet. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 09:58, 15 October 2007 (EDT)

THAT'S Rumble Falls? with the winmill, looks too zoomed in, and it looks diferent. User:Gowser

It is, indeed, Rumble Falls. The Windmill is a feature in the stage, and also, it is a scrolling level. Of course their will be parts of the stage that look different from the rest. Also, notice in the last screenshot, their is a beanstalk in the background. Sakurai had stated in the Rumble Falls update that their would be a beanstalk on that stage. My Bloody Valentine
As for North Pole, it is WAY too soon to be making an article on a stage that has no official name yet, and has been seen only once; and it was a close up of the Ice Climbers, so the stage could not be seen well. Think about it; How much content will you have on an article that has no official name and no official information? Do the math! My Bloody Valentine And don't go complaining over Norfair. That has an official name that was seen in the Demo Movies.

First off, you are being rude. Second, I NEVER said it need it's own article. User:Gowser

First off, I'm rude to almost all Users, it is one of my worst qualities. Get used to it. Second, OK then. My Bloody Valentine

Change the W symbol!

The one on the site look different now! User:Klaus Kratchet

Done. Good eye. My Bloody Valentine

Assist Trophies and Pokeballs

If you don't mind me asking, where is it confirmed that Airan Jo, Little Mac, Mach Rider, Metroid, Latios and Latias and the Springboard are in the game?

Gameplay Videos. My Bloody Valentine
Mind giving us a link? --Trogga 02:59, 18 October 2007 (EDT)
They're on Youtube somewhere. I never go to Youtube, so I can't get you the link, sorry. I'm sure Smashwiki would have links to it. My Bloody Valentine Speak of the devil, Little Mac was confirmed today!

Zero Suit Samus' Final smash...?

I'm not sure she even has one.

Why? Because according to the Smash Bros. Dojo: "The Final Smash is a secret skill that can be performed but once…and only after obtaining an item called the Smash Ball, which is a precious item, indeed."

Since Samus used the Zero Laser to transform into Zero Suit Samus, does she have one at all? Giga Bowser 13:31, 18 October 2007 (EDT)

It's disputable, she will most likely not have one. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 13:32, 18 October 2007 (EDT)
And, all this is speculation of a ridiculous level, sorry to say. Wait for the game to be released before jumping to this conclusion. My Bloody Valentine
Not stating information is hardly speculation. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 08:45, 19 October 2007 (EDT)
Er, good point. I'll shut up. My Bloody Valentine

Nevermind. I was looking at SmashWiki, and apparantly a video has shown that Zero Suit Samus does indeed have a final Smash. The full effects are unknown, but ZSS is enveloped in a bright flash and she transforms back into regular Samus. This move has apparantly been dubbed "Crystal Flash". Check out Smash Wiki for more info.

This confuses me because Sakurai said final smashes could only be performed once. Maybe, but unlikely, he meant once everytime you get the Smash ball, or once at a time.

I think you are forgetting, Zero Suit Samus is somewhat of her own character. My Bloody Valentine

Archive

Shouldn't we be archiving this page by now? My Bloody Valentine

I've been thinking of it for some time now, but I was too lazy. I doubt we need an additional archive page, we could just put it into the first archive. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 08:41, 19 October 2007 (EDT)

The Other Mario

In this video, http://gonintendo.com/?p=27632#comments , the nintendo rep (fat guy) said that Luigi would be a playable character (oops). So what should we do about this? User:Fixitup

Looks like he said it accidently. Not really surprising, but what to add to the page? There's nothing more we know. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 17:44, 19 October 2007 (EDT)

Off-topic, ray gun, fire flower, and mushroom could be seen in that video... >_> -User:Dodoman

A lot of new videos

From the E for All. All of them are in Gametrailers, and shows some gameplay of the Subspace Emisary mode (also, more videos of the story), and new elements, like Skarmory as a Pokemon.--Caith Sith 19:08, 19 October 2007 (EDT)

Also, I noticed the Spring Board (Mario series), and Lightning Bolt (Mario Kart series) appear in these new E for All videos... perhaps a mention is in order? -- Nintendax 23:09, 22 October 2007 (EDT)

Are you sure the spring board is not that of Sonic's Spring Jump? - Cobold (talk · contribs) 10:42, 23 October 2007 (EDT)

I'm quite positive that it's in fact not from Sonic's special ability. In fact, [3] is where I saw it at 0:34 -- Nintendax 22:42, 25 October 2007 (EDT)

Ike's Final Smash

You can see Ike's Final Smash here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wlhwdvf_U14 FH-sprite.pngFreekhenstraFH-sprite.png

Aaaaand, why are you saying this? My Bloody Valentine
So everyone can see it FH-sprite.pngFreekhenstraFH-sprite.png
We already know about Ike's Final Smash. Check the Final Smash article. My Bloody Valentine

Ball with spikes.

I think it's a Gordo from the Kirby series FH-sprite.pngFreekhenstraFH-sprite.png

We don't know what it is, which is why we aren't saying what he think it is. The possibilities are Gordo from Kirby and Sea Urchin from Clu Clu Land. Because it could be either one, we'll just call spike ball for the time being, OK? My Bloody Valentine

Surprisingly Different?

In King Dedede's entry, it states:

King Dedede enters as a heavy and large character, with, suprisingly, a different moveset from Kirby.

How is it surprising? The only things those 2 have in common in their series is that they can both inhale their opponents, spit them out as stars, and float. That's it. Other than that, they are nothing alike. ElementGodX

I've heard from many that he has an almost exact moveset to Kirby's. I haven't played many Kirby games, so, I can't say for sure. My Bloody Valentine

Remember, its being translated from Japanese to English, so sometimes the words don't make sense. -- Son of Suns

Uh, Sos, that was what I put on the article, not what Sakurai put on the Dojo!! :| My Bloody Valentine
It's true, they are similar, but I would still remove that "surprisingly" thing. We need to be careful when we use adverbs as they tend to inject sentences with opinion. Stumpers! 19:29, 29 October 2007 (EDT)

Krystal in SSBB

"Alesia Glidewell, mieux connue pour avoir prêté sa voix au personnage de Krystal dans la série des StarFox, annonce sur son site internet la présence de Krystal dans Super Smash Bros. Brawl. A noter que Alesia Glidewell se chargera également de la voix de Knuckle Joe et de Zero Suit Samus dans Super Smash Bros. Brawl." from Jeux-France. And now what? can we do an article?--Caith Sith 07:38, 26 October 2007 (EDT) Original source

Here is the translated version:
"Alesia Glidewell, better known to have lent its voice to the character of Krystal in the series of StarFox, announces on its Internet site the presence of Krystal in Super Bros Smash. Brawl. It should be noted that Alesia Glidewell will also take care of the voice of Knuckle Joe and Zero Suit Samus in Super Bros Smash. Brawl."
HOWEVER!! That is speculation, so, we will not make the article, at this moment. My Bloody Valentine I'll mention it on Fox McCloud's article, however.
Ok ;)--Caith Sith 07:59, 26 October 2007 (EDT)
Her chances at being playable are quite high, so, it wouldn't surprise me if Krystal gets an article in a few Months. :P My Bloody Valentine

Yoshi's Island DS?

The information for the Yoshi's Island stage says it's from Yoshi's Island DS, though if I'm correct - doesn't it look more like the original Yoshi's Island game? --Bentendo 16:32, 26 October 2007 (EDT)

I don't actually know those Yoshi games, but as far as I remember, it stated Yoshi's Island DS in constrast to Yoshi's Story, as the Smash and Melee Yoshi's Island/Yoshi's Story stage were from that game. An earlier version of this page also mentioned Yoshi Touch & Go. Feel free to change things to how you think they are accurate. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 17:20, 26 October 2007 (EDT)
It is based on Yoshi Touch & Go. Yoshi's Island DS didn't have any Support Ghosts. My Bloody Valentine
They first appeared in Yoshi's Island though. I would mention all three, and leave it at that. Stumpers! 19:32, 29 October 2007 (EDT)

Minor NP information

While nothing was really revealed in the new Nintendo Power, there were new images -

  • One showing Meta Knight fighting Charizard, ultimately with the former character winning. BTW - Charizard looks tiny!
  • One shows Lucas ding a kick in the air with what appears to be some kind of magic shooting out of his shoe.
  • One shoes Diddy Kong happily eating a banana, or finishing it...
  • A few show the awesome Metal Gear stage.
  • Another Metal Gear image shows Snake tossing a knife in the air.
  • Also, the game is on the cover, and it's the same artwork that's on the box. --Bentendo 18:38, 26 October 2007 (EDT)
Can you scan the cover, for the Nintendo Power article? - Cobold (talk · contribs) 18:59, 26 October 2007 (EDT)

Counting

Counting is really hard. Look at this page and count twenty-three icons. Then read the text where it says excluding Zero Suit Samus, so you substract one and end up on twenty-two. There are twenty-two characters confirmed by this counting method and no more. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 19:13, 26 October 2007 (EDT)

Spring

I'm asking for the last time whether the Spring item isn't in fact Sonic's Spring Jump spring. Can anyone give at least an answer? Else, I'd like to get rid of the notice... - Cobold (talk · contribs) 04:45, 27 October 2007 (EDT)

Yes it's the spring in the Mario series, I saw it in a Youtube video. So this is true info. It the one with the diamond center. Pikatwo

Can you give a link? - Cobold (talk · contribs) 11:47, 27 October 2007 (EDT)

I mentioned the item and provided a link under the "A lot of new videos" topic on this very page. -- Nintendax 12:58, 27 October 2007 (EDT)

Okay, noted. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 13:02, 27 October 2007 (EDT)

Enemy list

Should we have a list of creatures that roam around to do damage anywhere? Like Waddle Dee, Goomba, etc. Sort of like ReDead in the last game. NMRodo

I'd hold up on that. Right now, we don't know that they will act the same as the ReDeads. I'll bet you're right though, but I don't want you to right it just to have it deleted because it's "not canon." Yeah, I'm still spiteful from when it happened to me... sorry. Stumpers! 19:35, 29 October 2007 (EDT)

Subspace Emissary Images

Are there too many Images in the Story section, or is the amount of images fine? I personally think the amount of Images is OK, but Fixitup is persistant in removing them. Comments, please. My Bloody Valentine

It does look pretty tight there, especially when you look at it full screen on a 1600x1400 monitor or whatever the heck this thing is I'm looking at. Maybe we could shrink them and shove them all over to the right? How does 150px sound? Stumpers! 07:01, 31 October 2007 (EDT)
On closer inspection, quite a few are somewhat worthless, really. I'm removing the Images that aren't needed, and keeping the ones with great detail about the Story. My Bloody Valentine

On-Screen Appearance...

I think we should add a thing on the character entries for their on-screen appearances. Anyone? NMRodo

They are too minor to have a section here, but you can put information on them on each character's individual article. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 18:18, 2 November 2007 (EDT)
I would incorporate them into the characters section if I were you. Since we're a specialty Wiki, isn't anything that's part of a game like this by definition not too minor? Stumpers! 18:25, 2 November 2007 (EDT)
Yeah, I was thinking they at least deserved a small mention in the characters'... box thingys. >_> NMRodo
Hmm, {{SSB Infobox}} would indeed be a good place for entrances. I'll add it. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 18:51, 2 November 2007 (EDT)
Cobold, you're always so nice to work with! Thanks for that! Stumpers! 00:32, 3 November 2007 (EDT)
Why, thank you! But there's something wrong with the coding on this template... <.< - Cobold (talk · contribs) 05:44, 3 November 2007 (EDT)
I noticed. I tried fixing it earlier today, but nothing would work. :( My Bloody Valentine

Rayquaza

Yes it is. - --Toadófsky1 12:08, 5 November 2007 (EST)

Minor elements

Can we make articles about minor elements of the game like the Codec from Metal Gear Solid series, or the Staff of Palutena from Kid Ikarus?--Caith Sith 21:56, 20 November 2007 (EST)

Sorry, but I think that we shouldn't make that, because they aren't related to the Mario-verse. ¢oincollctor rsitem209.png

Huh... they appear in Brawl, so know they are related with the Marioverse... no? Is the same as the Smart Bomb from StarFox series, for example. Of course the Codec and items like that are very minor, but...--Caith Sith 22:21, 20 November 2007 (EST)

Rating

Anyone who has enough eyes to look at the box art couldn't possibly say the rating is not T. Stop saying it's E! - Cobold (talk · contribs) 10:59, 27 November 2007 (EST)

The official website has it RP. Demyx Demyx-sig.gif
That's still not E. And I'd trust the box art, the official site might simply not have updated the copyright notice at the bottom. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 11:33, 27 November 2007 (EST)
Oh, certainly agreed that E is wrong. Where is that box art from? I haven't seen it before. Demyx Demyx-sig.gif 11:49, 27 November 2007 (EST)

Music

I'm working to rewrite the music, just to let you guys know. In the near future I hope to have an organizable list of composers, with their works in game and favorite works out of the game (those featured by Sakurai). So, basically, what I'm saying is if you're thinking of doing the same don't waste your time, or let me know so I don't waste mine. Stumpers! 19:16, 28 November 2007 (EST)

Wait, lemme ask. What exactly are you planning on doing to the section? I understand you are going to add a list of all the composers (IMO, we should just give a link to the Musicians update on the Smash Bros. Dojo!! =|). But, what will you do with the list of music tracks in the game? =| My Bloody Valentine
I'm going to sort them according to the musician (which the website hasn't done yet) for the chart, but I also want to make a list of tracks, perhaps in the same fashion (sortable), that shows which stage it is featured on, who made it, and what game (or games, if there's a medley) it first appeared in. This is all going to take a while, but for now, does it sound good? Stumpers! 20:57, 29 November 2007 (EST)
I'm still a bit confused, but, you've never let us down with this page (maybe once or twice, but, who's to say? XD), so, I'll trust you with this. I'll judge it when I see it. ;) My Bloody Valentine
Well thank you! :3 And you've always been the guy to get the DOJO updates up and stylin' first! ...and then I come along and elaborate things to death... >.> Hopefully I'm doing a good job with that. ;) Stumpers! 21:42, 29 November 2007 (EST)
Yeah. But, the main issue is that you treat this too much like a SmashWiki. You make article links to Game Mechanics that are restricted to SSB, such as Knock Outs, Transformation, etc. Other than that, you do good with the Brawl stuff. =) I hope you do a good job on the music section. =| My Bloody Valentine
There's actually a Category:Forms that was more of waht I was thinking with the transformations. Maybe those terms other terms should be in the glossary? Stumpers! 23:46, 29 November 2007 (EST)
By the way, I just found a good reason for my doing this rather than just directing people to the list of musicians: that list is incomplete. I've already found three people not listed there, including Nobuo, the exteremely presigious Final Fantasy composer who wrote SSBB's main theme. It also does not mention the vocalists, so I'll include them, too. It's coming along well, by the way. Stumpers! 19:35, 30 November 2007 (EST)
OK, that's a better reason for adding the list of Composers. GO FOR IT, STUMP MAN! =P My Bloody Valentine

Question

Will Giga Bowser come back?--RapidRocker Brawl FC:4296-2708-0195 12:31, 30 November 2007 (EST)

Giga Bowser will be, just, the Bowser's Final Smash--Caith Sith 12:35, 30 November 2007 (EST)
See Giga Bowser Transformation. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 13:02, 30 November 2007 (EST)
That's all we know right now, anyway, but given the fact that Giga Bowser stems from the Adventure mode of Melee, which has now been replaced by the Subspace Emmissary, I'll be you that the supreme secret boss will be related to the Ancient Minister rather than Bowser. Stumpers! 19:37, 30 November 2007 (EST)
Giga Bowser also appeared in the final Event Match in Melee. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 05:43, 1 December 2007 (EST)
