The Spiny Capsule first appeared in Mario Party 5, where it could be thrown to a space on the board, or used on the player for five coins (not advised). Anyone who landed on a space containing this capsule got bashed by a Spiny Shell, making them lose ten coins. In Mario Party 6, it became the Spiny Orb. It cost five coins at the Orb Shop.
