Prankster Comets are Comets that appear in Super Mario Galaxy. They will appear from time to time in the orbits of various galaxies. If the player travels to a galaxy when a Prankster Comet is in orbit, a special event will be triggered, which will usually change the gameplay of the level. By completing the event, the player will receive a Power Star.
Prankster Comets
- Speedy Comet: Mario must complete the level within a certain time limit.
- Daredevil Comet: Mario must complete the level with only one health.
- Cosmic Comet: Mario must race Cosmic Mario to a star.
- Fast Foe Comet: All enemies in the level are sped up.
- Purple Comet: These are only available after the game is beaten. Mario must collect one-hundred purple coins to get a star.
