Gooey Goons are blob creatures that hang from ceilings like Scuttle Bugs (New Super Mario Bros. version) from Yoshi's Island DS. They come in a variety of colors and hang down from different heights. A yellow Gooey Goon became an over-sized whitish-peach Gooey Goon, Gilbert the Gooey, and twenty multicolored crystals (the same color as all of the Gooey Goons) cover him. Blue Yoshi must lick them off to defeat him.

In the Island Museum, they are classified as subterranean enemies.
