She will participate in Olympic events in Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games as a playable character. Amy will be an All-Around character, meaning she will be neither good nor bad in any ability.
Similar to Blaze, Peach and Daisy, Amy will have a slight outfit change in Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games. This makes her the only female character in the game to do this, who is not royalty of any sort.
