Some Star Chips.
Star Chips are items that will appear in Super Mario Galaxy and have so far only been seen in an E3 video. Apparently, if Mario gets all five of these pieces, a Boost Star will appear. There are also blue star chips, and when all five are collected, they create a beam star.
