Bob-omb Buddy

The Bob-omb Buddies are allies to Mario of the Bob-omb species which can be differentiated from the foes by their distinct pink (sometimes red) color. In their first appearance, Super Mario 64, the Bob-omb Buddies helped Mario by opening cannons for him, and were shown to have a rivalry with the evil Bob-ombs, as they were in a war with the Big Bob-omb and his minions. Although the outcome of the war was never made clear, it can be assumed that, seeing as Mario defeated all of Bowser's minions at the end of the game, the Bob-omb Buddies emerged victorious.

The Bob-omb Buddies also appeared as aides in the Mario Party games, as well as the Super Mario 64 remake. Their most recent appearances were in Mini-games in New Super Mario Bros. There are also Green & Blue Bob-omb buddies, who are prisoners along with Bombette & a red Bob-omb Buddy, in the Koopa Bros. Fortress.

• Tiny-Huge Island, edge of a Bubba's pool (only in the small area)
• Rainbow Ride, at the top of the maze
• Wing Mario over the Rainbow, the large pink platform
