The Maxim Tomato is an item in the Kirby series also used in the Super Smash Bros. series.
In Super Smash Bros., if a character picked it up, he or she would be healed 100% points of damage. This does not mean, however, that the player would be fully healed. It simply takes off 100% damage. For example, if a character had 150% and picked one up, they're damage meter would decrease to 50% damage.
In Super Smash Bros. Melee they acted similarly, but only healed 50% worth of damage. The item returns in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, but it is unknown how much health it will recover this time.
Trophy Information
Maxim Tomatoes cure 50 percentage points of your accumulated damage. Once you eat one, after a brief moment, your damage meter slowly drains the appropriate amount, regardless of whether or not you pick up another item right afterwards. In the Kirby series, these juicy, health-restoring items were a favorite of the pink hero.
