Mecha-Chomps are mechanical Chain Chomps that Mario and Luigi encountered during the events of Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. However, instead of being restricted by chains, Mecha-Chomps had dog-like bodies, and moved around on wheels.

They were found in Woohoo Hooniversity, but never appeared on the field, instead showing up only in battle with Laser Snifits and Viruses. When attacking, the LED on the Mecha-Chomp's face would cycle through orange and green, eventually stopping on one of the two. The Mecha-Chomp would then throw its head at the appropriate target – Mario if it was orange, Luigi if it was green.

Once the Mecha-Chomp had been damaged, it would start to malfunction. When malfunctioning, a Mecha-Chomp would reverse its targets – orange for Luigi, green for Mario. Another enemy, [[Shroid|Shroids] in Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time also malfunctions simularily.
