The GameCube version features Mario, Luigi and Princess Peach as playable characters, due to a deal between EA and Nintendo in which EA would include Nintendo characters and properties in a few of their games. They're part of their own team called Nintendo All-Stars. There is also a GameCube exclusive Basketball court named Nintendo Court, which is themed around the Mario series.
