Clap is a move Donkey Kong uses in Donkey Kong Jungle Beat. To make Donkey Kong perform this move, the player has to physically clap (which will create a sound to be picked up by the DK Bongos' built-in mic), or alternatively the player can tap on the bongos or use the GameCube controller. The Nintendo Wii remote can be used in the Wii port, New Play Control! Donkey Kong Jungle Beat.
If there is an item nearby (ex. Banana) and Donkey Kong claps, he will reach for the item and grab it. If there is an enemy nearby and Donkey Kong claps, the enemy might be defeated. Clapping has many other uses in the game, for example, avoiding attacks during a boss battle. Several clap moves appear as Donkey Kong's Smash Attacks, most notably his side Smash and up Smash, in the Super Smash Bros. series.
