If it is equipped by Mario, getting a First Strike on an enemy that would give one or fewer Star Points after a battle (which is considered to be "weak") defeats it instantly. Bump Attack, which involves defeating weak enemies after instantly coming into contact with them, overrides First Attack. In Paper Mario, it will not work against Amazy Dayzees and Dry Bones.
