This level is an athletic level, and features multiple varieties of Koopa Troopas and Hammer Bros. Somewhat ironic for an athletic level, the underground theme plays within this course.

The level begins with the player needing to clear a gap, with two Koopa Paratroopas hovering in between. After a few more gaps and Paratroopas, the player will come across a Sledge Bro. on top of breakable blocks. Past the Sledge Bro. is a section full of thin ledges that the player must balance on, with several coins available for the player to obtain. After the section with thin ledges is passed, the level's checkpoint is reached.

After the checkpoint, a pair of Fire Bros. will try to attack the player. Within a ? Block that one of them is standing on is a Super Star, which can be used to score multiple 1-UPs from the Koopa Troopas in the next area. This area contains vertically- and horizontally-moving platforms, one of which is patrolled by a Boomerang Bro. Past the Boomerang Bro is solid ground, with a Sledge Bro. in the area.

After getting past the Sledge Bro. and another Boomerang Bro., the player will come across a Red Ring and a Pipe Cannon; the latter takes the player to the flagpole on a path of coins created by the former. Some Paratroopas are available to give the player a potential boost to the top of the flagpole.

*Star Coin 1: Underneath the first Sledge Bro.; the player must dash across the single blocks to reach it.
*Star Coin 2: Located on the horizontally-moving platform that holds the first Boomerang Bro.
*Star Coin 3: Underneath the second Sledge Bro.; the player must Ground Pound through the Brick Blocks above it. Alternatively, baiting the Sledge Bro. into jumping onto the Brick Blocks will also work.
