Tropical Island is the second floor in Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis. The background includes palm trees, two overlapping islands, and a sun which resembles a Shine Sprite, but without eyes. The ground is beige with a purple lining along the top. The Mini Marios and Mario had to pass through here on their quest to save Pauline from Donkey Kong.
This area introduces Kānī Rollers as well as Color Switches. Color switch related puzzles are common among this floor's levels. Small variations of Bloopers are also introduced, as well as the Fire Flower which turns Mini Mario into Fire Mini Mario.
During the Mini Marios' second encounter with Donkey Kong, he floats on a spiked platform and attacks by throwing bananas. To defeat him, the player has to attack the ape directly by bouncing off the walls or just hit the coconuts above him at the right timing to make them fall on his head. Once defeated, he flees to Pipe Works.
Enemies
- Piranha Plants
- Bloopers
- Shy Guys
- Bob-ombs (appear in minigame)
- Kānī Rollers
- Capture Kongs
- Donkey Kong (boss)
