BuckiesTemplate:Refneeded are yellow caterpillar enemies appearing in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. They are sluggish walkers that can stick to any surface with their stubby legs. Their front legs have been positioned as hands, in order to improve their character. Small, red bristles are orderly placed on their head and body. Buckies have rabbit-like teeth and a long mouth. Two small nostrils stand between their distant, wide open eyes.

Dixie Kong stands in an area with two Buckies from the level, Harvest Hazards.

As they walk, Buckies release trails of toxic fumes which disappear after a set amount of time, but which are dangerous for the Kongs. (The artwork for Buckies depicts one leaving trails of snow, which never happens in-game.) It was stated earlier that Buckies can cling onto walls and ceilings; in the latter case, they occasionally drop large, poisonous bubbles that slowly descend until they pop when coming in contact with ground or with a Kong. Buckies are not difficult to defeat: a single stomp can down them. A roll attack on their front side is also effective against these creatures, but it is not recommended, since the player can get into their poisonous trails and get damaged. Nevertheless, Buckies that hang on ceilings cannot be defeated by these methods, and it is useful to throw a barrel at them so they perish. If the player ground pounds next to a Bucky, the catterpillar enemy will lay down and start to feel dizzy for a moment, only to get up and continue its usual task. Shooting one with a popgun stuns them for a short time, as they pull back their heads when hit.

Sometimes, the player can encounter strings of ceiling-dwelling Buckies that constantly emerge from holes and end up in another one, further away. Their main "target" is, perhaps, hindering the Kongs with their descending large bubbles.
