Conquering the Summit

Template:Missionbox Conquering the Summit is the hidden sixth mission of the Freezeflame Galaxy in Super Mario Galaxy. The mission's objective is to reach the top of the Freezy Peak Planet.

Layout

This mission takes place during the The Frozen Peak of Baron Brrr mission. The player needs to make their way to the Freezy Peak Planet to the point where they grab the first Ice Flower. Jumping up the first set of water spouts, the player will reach a second set of water spouts next to the path split with the Bomps. The player needs to time a Triple Jump off of the spouts to reach a Sling Star that will take them to the other side of the planet.

Using a Fire Flower to destroy a snowman in the path, the player needs to quickly climb up a set of platforms with Bomps on them to reach another snowman the player needs to destroy, which will reveal another Sling Star. The next area has many rolling boulders coming out of a hole in the cliff. At the bottom of the hill is another snowman the player needs to destroy followed by four Bomps, with the final one acting as a platform to reach an upper ledge. As Fire Mario, the player needs to run up the hill while avoiding boulders to reach a snowman before the power-up wears off. Destroying the snowman will reveal another Sling Star that will take the player up to a narrow path up the mountain, then the player has to quickly Wall Jump up the mountain before the wall of Bomps shove them off in order to reach the Power Star.
