===Tommy 8353 to Toadwill===
{{renameuser|Tommy 8353|Toadwill}}
I would like to change my name from Tommy 8353 To Toadwill, please. Tommy 8353 was the name I chose right away when I joined two days ago because it is my name for my youtube channel. Since I'm going to be a confirmed user or whatever in two days, I would like to create a new username and profile picture. And I wanted to have a creative, thoughtful username, so I thought of Toadwill! Please rename Mt username! Thank you!

Clearing?

Am I understanding this correct that entries from this page don't get removed after the name change? - Cobold (talk · contribs) 05:30, 26 January 2008 (EST)

Yes, just leave it with "all userspace pages have been moved" to signify completion. We'll probably need an archive eventually Wa Yoshihead.png TC@Y 09:49, 26 January 2008 (EST)
When the user doesn't have a user-page created, the line shows up as well, so I'd be careful. The current template doesn't count userpages when they are only talk-pages. Also, the user page of King Boo 55 (talk) is listed as a sub-page of King Boo (talk), that problem has to be fixed as well. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 16:07, 26 January 2008 (EST)
Not sure about your first complaint, but I just fixed your last two, though User talk comes before User. Wa Yoshihead.png TC@Y 20:26, 26 January 2008 (EST)

Twice Per Year

When it says "1 year", does it mean from January 1 to December 31, or just 365 days in general? Because, technically, if it were based on the first and last day of the year, a user could get 4 name changes in less than an hour, if they do two on 12/31 and another two on 1/1. It means 365 days, correct? Marcelagus (TCE)

Yup. Time Questions 07:29, 14 September 2008 (EDT)
I actually think it's from January 1 to December 31. It's very hard to keep the date of the renames in mind, they're buried in the history. Clearing this page on January 1st is the easiest solution to do. It saves much work for bureaucrats. Don't worry about four renames in hours, we won't let that happen. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 18:36, 14 September 2008 (EDT)
So, teoretically, it's possible to have four name changes in one year, is what I'm seeing. Are the name changes for the year going to be archived on 1/1? Marcelagus (TCE)
No. It's possible to have four name changes in 365 days, but never in the same year. I'm not sure about archiving. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 15:32, 15 September 2008 (EDT)
When I say "1 year", I don't mean on the calendar, I mean 365 days. So, on 1/1, the page will be cleared, but there will be no archives, correct? Marcelagus (TCE)
Wouldn't adding the date of a rename to this page solve the problem? Time Questions 18:51, 15 September 2008 (EDT)
Or, we could make a list on the page of people who have already had name changes in the past 365 days. Marcelagus (TCE) Or a combination of the 2, I suppose
I only know that this page was indeed cleared on January 1, 2008 and I saw no reason to change it. If you can work out a system which makes it easy to see the 365 date span then go ahead. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 06:42, 16 September 2008 (EDT)

I actually mean to have the user only change twice every 365 days. Wa Yoshihead.png TC@Y 15:54, 16 September 2008 (EDT)

There is a log that tracks the date. It's pretty easy to keep track of. Phoenix Rider 15:56, 16 September 2008 (EDT)

If you're insisting on that... - Cobold (talk · contribs) 12:48, 18 September 2008 (EDT)

I got renamed on December 2010, from Waluigi vs Wario to Diddy Kong vs Bowser Jr. If I get a rename again, will I have to wait until December 2011 or can I make another name change before December? Just to make sure. User:Diddy Kong vs Bowser Jr.

Question?

Is this where we go to change our name? レシイラムtalk 19:11, 8 May 2009 (EDT)

Yeah, just fill out a form on the corresponding page. A 'Crat will get to it ASAP. — Stooben Rooben 19:33, 8 May 2009 (EDT)

Here. If you want to contact one of them, I suggest not contacting Time Q, as he has been inactive lately. Fawfulfury65

A little question

Hello! My username at Wikipedia is Green Yoshi. Then I created my user account here at Super Mario Wiki, Green Yoshi was already used by a person who only has made four edits on talk pages in 28th August 2009. Is it possible for me to change name from Yoshi's Island to Green Yoshi? I don't think that Green Yoshi will log in again. It is possible to do so at Wikipedia, anyway, because I have done a similar change there. - File:Yoshi Egg Big.gif (t) Yoshi's Island (c)File:PM2 Yoshi.PNG 11:10, 21 December 2010 (UTC)

Hello! Can someone help me, please? - File:Yoshi Egg Big.gif (t) Yoshi's Island (c)File:PM2 Yoshi.PNG 10:46, 22 February 2011 (EST)
Usernames are generally first-come, first-serve. I would only do that if they were clearly squatting a popular name, but in this case Green Yoshi is a generic name and you were just beaten to the punch. Sorry! --Steve (talk) Get Firefox 13:57, 22 February 2011 (EST)

Im new, can I ask u somethin?

Yeah, so im a new user and want to change my username ALREADY! I dont know how to create a sub-section. Can u tell me?

Rename unapproved mistake

Why is mine unapproved? --Toadette Rocks! 07:22, 4 April 2013 (EDT)

A Bureaucrat must rename you first, and then they will update the template to show whether the change has been approved or not.

Just a question

..are lowercase names allowed? --driftmaster130 (TalkEdits) 10:04, 11 July 2013 (EDT)

You mean the first letter? afaik, it's not possible: the wiki just reads it the same as uppercase (i.e. "walkazo" is read the same as "Walkazo"), same reason you can't have titles starting a lowercase letter, and have to use DISPLAYTITLE to make it look lowercase, like on e-Reader. - Walkazo 15:24, 12 July 2013 (EDT)

One year

Do you have to be on Mario Wiki for one year to be able to change your username? User:MarioKart7player (talk · edits) User:MarioKart7player/sig 08:42, 23 February 2015 (EST)

Because I want to chsnge my username from MarioKart7player to Mario Kart 7 Player. User:MarioKart7player (talk · edits) User:MarioKart7player/sig 08:44, 23 February 2015 (EST)

Nope, as long as you're a legit user (i.e. have made edits, and are not just a spam account joining solely to request renames or something), you can get a rename as early as you want. - Walkazo 10:27, 23 February 2015 (EST)

Oh. Thank you very much! User:MarioKart7player (talk · edits) User:MarioKart7player/sig 11:30, 23 February 2015 (EST)

...do...they even...

Why cant I create my own userpage, or edit the Changing username page!? I even made a mistake in my name!!! User:Green the Pokémom Trainer 2:27 PM 6/28/15 (IDK WHAT)

It's because you're not autoconfirmed: you need to make 5 edits and be a user for 4 days before you can edit certain pages or create any pages. - Walkazo 15:59, 28 June 2015 (EDT)

Change Name Request

I made a mistake in my name, I meant Pokémon, not Pokémom. User:Green the Pokémom Trainer 2:31 PM, 6/28/15, (...)

Usually I'd say edit and be patient and make a proper request, but since it's a clear typo, I'll rename you now. But be more careful next time. - Walkazo 15:59, 28 June 2015 (EDT)

Chaning my username

I want my current username ===MasterCoreinsubspace=== to my Smash Wiki one ===TabuuandMasterCore=== thanks! MasterCoreinsubspace (talk) 08:21, 28 February 2016 (EST)

you make the request on the page itself. --Glowsquid (talk) 08:31, 28 February 2016 (EST)
