Wendy O. Koopa throwing her candy ring

Candy rings[1] are circular projectiles that Wendy O. Koopa can shoot from her magic wand. They are named since they are colored in red and white stripes as a candy cane.

Candy rings were first seen in Super Mario Bros. 3, where Wendy attempts to shoot them at Mario. They later reappear in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, where they are able to expand and squeeze Mario and Luigi.

They once again return in New Super Mario Bros. Wii, where they function the same as in Super Mario Bros. 3. They changed colors from red and white to yellow, however. Candy rings return in New Super Mario Bros. U, although she throws them instead of casting them.

Their latest appearance is in Paper Mario: Color Splash, although only one giant one appears during Wendy's battle.
