- Mario's House (pictured) in the opening scene of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door features a redesign of Mario's & Luigi's bedroom from Paper Mario; however, it can't be fully seen in the opening scene unless the game is hacked.
- In the Mario Party 6 minigame Banana Shake, Delfino Plaza from Super Mario Sunshine can be seen in the background.
- In Paper Mario, before the player fights Jr. Troopa in Forever Forest, he erroneously calls himself "Jr. Koopa".
- Wario Land II was the first game to portray Wario wearing a short-sleeved shirt.
