Pixel Toad is Toad in 8-bit form. He first appears in Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker when the player uses their Toad amiibo to play hide and seek. When activated, the player must locate Pixel Toad hidden somewhere in a stage. Then, as Captain Toad, the player must give chase and catch it. Once caught, a stamp of Pixel Toad will be marked on the level that was played.
