Mario receiving a Par
Mario scoring a Par in Mario Golf: World Tour.

A Par is an average score that can be achieved in the Mario Golf series. By getting a Par, the player gets a score of 0, meaning the player neither gains, nor loses points. Pars are not necessarily a bad score, but they are not good either; if the player gets nothing but Pars, he or she is very apt to lose. Also, if a player gets a score such as a Bogey, a Par will not bring the players score back up. However, if the player gets a Birdie or better, the player does not lose points.

When the player gets a Par, his or her character reacts mellowly, showing happiness that he or she didn't do bad, but slightly disappointed that he or she didn't do better.
