Welcome to May 2015! I would like to welcome Paper Yoshi back into the fold, as he has decided to return as the Mario Calendar writer. Be sure to check out his section featured in this issue, as well as Palkia47's !
Hello, readers and writers! We are here with our April 2015 edition of The 'Shroom, and I hope that you will enjoy what we have this time around. I would like to take this chance to thank all of our writers for helping out and would like to welcome Walkazo and Viper26 to our writing staff teams. Their submissions are featured in the Palette Swap and Pipe Plaza sections, respectively, so be sure to check out their great work!

The only thing I have to address for this issue is our Feedback Survey, which can be filled out here. Firstly, we have designed this survey to be much shorter than our previous ones; whereas the older surveys have featured about 20 questions, we now only ask 7 questions. Rather than burden our participants with an overbearing form, we feel that this streamlined questionnaire will be much quicker to fill out and will produce more focused results.
Firstly, as I have mentioned in the past several issues, we are expanding our subscription services and will be posting regularly on our social media platforms. Please be sure that you and your friends follow us on Facebook and on Twitter! Additionally, if you are interested in receiving e-mail updates from us, please fill out this form here. Social media is a great way to show your support for The 'Shroom and to make sure that you are kept up-to-date with our latest happenings– we will post when there are new issues, special announcements and events, and writing spots available!

Secondly, one of the most important questions contained in this month's survey is how we will continue to number our issues from the Special Issue onward. Currently, The 'Shroom uses Roman numerals to designate each issue, but the staff is considering switching to Arabic numerals. For example, rather than labeling the June edition Issue C, we would title it Issue 100. Simply put, the Roman numeral system makes issues complicated to refer to and the problem will only get worse with time. Switching to Arabic numerals can make identifying editions of the paper much easier. Imagine how we would have to deal with the eventual Issue CCCLXXXVIII... It is much easier just to call it Issue 388! Now that we have made our case, we want to leave it to the readers to decide what to do.
Additionally, we will also continue accepting suggestions for Issue C all the way up through June. The Suggestions Box form set up over here, so be sure to submit your ideas! The 'Shroom staff is starting to review the ideas that have been received, and so far there are several interesting recommendations that we are going to try to make happen. After all, the Special Issue is designed for you, so we are always happy to take what the readers want and implement it. We will start unveiling some ideas and projects that are going to be implemented for Issue C within the next couple of months, so stay tuned!

So please be sure to fill out the Feedback Survey, and to check the Closing Statement for news regarding next month.
Otherwise, there is not much else regarding this issue that I have to discuss. Once again, I hope you all enjoy what we are presenting this month! Be sure to check out the Closing Statement for news regarding next month.

Retro Feature wins again! Last month, Yoshi876 introduces former 'Shroom writer Coincollector to the readers and continues to highlight one of his old Mario Kart: Wheel Tips Corner sections. As always, it is an interesting trip back to the newsletter's past. In case you missed it for whatever reason, please be sure to give it a read!
As Retro Feature was the only standalone section submitted last month, the section will receive the Section of the Month for March 2015 designation. Do not be fooled, however; even though the section has won by default, each month's Retro Features are always outstanding and most certainly qualify to receive this honor. That said, a huge "thank you" goes to Yoshi876 for consistently producing invaluable, high-quality submissions for our paper! The 'Shroom would not be the same without your hard work.
