A Melon is a fruit found in tropical regions, such as Yoshi's Island and Isle Delfino. The Melon first appeared in Yoshi's Story, where it was the fruit of choice of the Yoshis.
Melons also appeared with various other fruits in Super Mario Sunshine at Delfino Plaza. Sometimes, it must be used as bait for a Yoshi to venture out of its egg. If a Yoshi eats one, it will turn orange and restock its juice. It can also be thrown by Mario.
