I think it should be noted that this is not the fan game, maybe put a thing on top says that this isn't the fan game, maybe, idk. Chaossy (talk) 16:46, 11 June 2013 (EDT)

I think people will already know, considering this a power-up from Super Mario 3D World--Holyromanemperortatan (talk) 16:59, 11 June 2013 (EDT)
What if people come wondering on here and searched to see if the fangame is on the wiki? I know it's unlikely, but it is a possibility. Chaossy (talk) 08:44, 12 June 2013 (EDT)
Then they would understand it's not the same thing. However, maybe we should talk about the Cat Mario game in the Web references article, then put a Template:Temp template at the top of this article.
Banon (talk · edits) 08:50, 12 June 2013 (EDT)
Yeah, we should do that. Chaossy (talk) 09:01, 12 June 2013 (EDT)
Ok, you can add it here if you want.

Rename?

I noticed the template "This can also be called Cat Luigi, Toad, Peach" or whatever.

Why can't pages like these have "Form" at the end. Like instead of Cat Mario, the page is named "Cat Form" to fit everyone (even if they don't use it). Just an idea. - Kuzey457 (talk) 00:28, 16 July 2013 (EDT)

If you want, you can propose it. --Waluigi's head icon in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Too Bad! Waluigi Time! 18:16, 27 July 2013 (EDT)

Latest Appearance

I've noticed that the power-up's latest appearance says Super Mario 3D World. The Game hasn't been released yet so I think there shouldn't be a latest appearance bar should created yet
The preceding unsigned comment was added by YoshiandDaisyrock77 (talk).

First you mean "First Appearance", second : The whole article is about an unreleased game. So this rule doesn't apply on this.--

Meowser or Cat Bowser?

I have noticed that this article refers to Bowser's cat form as "Meowser". If this name is confirmed, I think a reference proving it is required. Otherwise, we should probably assume there is no confirmed name at the moment, and call him "Cat Bowser" (it makes more sense in my opinion).-- Poison Mushroom Orb in Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. EditionDigibutterFrancis 16:06, 23 November 2013 (EST)

Yeah, I haven't reached that far into the game yet, but if somebody that has completed the game can confirm this, we don't need a source.

Misleading Content

A user told me Rosalina's cat suit is black on the Super Mario 3d World talk page. Another told me it's navy blue. The Cat Mario page is what is confusing me. And if you look here: http://hocotate-civ.tumblr.com/image/74620960831 Her cat form is black! So please tell me the truth; which color does everyone agree with? We have to end this color feud and we have to end it now.--70.79.246.167 02:49, 12 August 2014 (EDT)

Split Cat Peach from Cat Mario?

This is probably stupid, but since its HER appear and not this guy, it might be wierd to have every cat peach label in Mario Kart 8 just redirect here. Maybe its not that stupid to split? Toadbrigade5 (talk) 22:40, 30 August 2014 (EDT)

It's the same matter as Gold Mario, the fact that every image redirects here is someone's accidental fault. Just make the images link here instead since it shouldn't be split, as I said here. - Ninelevendo's Sig Image 22:52, 30 August 2014 (EDT)

Create a Cat Peach (character) article

Cat Peach need her own page, because she's a independent character in Mario Kart 8. This is not a Power-up form (like Metal Mario (character) who is split from Metal Mario (form)). This is like Bowser and Dry Bowser, they are the same in New Super Mario Bros. and Mario Party 10, but have separate article, because they are independent character in various games. So, why not?

Support

  1. LudwigVon (talk) Per my proposal.
  2. The Super Mario Super User (talk) Per LudwigVon.
  3. Bwburke94 (talk) Per the Metal Mario precedent. Cat Peach is treated as a character in MK8.

Oppose

  1. BabyLuigi64 (talk) Metal Mario has appeared enough both as a power up and as a separate character to warrant articles. Cat Peach has only appeared three times: Super Mario 3D World (powerup), Mario Kart 8 (character), and The Cat Mario Show (which could be either for all anyone knows.) If Cat Peach appears as a separate character enough times, then a split could happen in the future, but not now.
  2. Viper26 (talk) Per BabyLuigi64.
  3. Tails777 (talk) Per BabyLuigi64. If Cat Peach (and even Tanooki Mario, as he seems to be left out of this scenario) appears more as an independent character, then maybe we'd split them off. At this point, Dry Bowser meets article requirements cause he's appeared multiple times as a separate character. Getting the article when MKW was released was probably a bit early, but that was the past. This is the present and at this time I say wait.
  4. Baby Luigi (talk) Per Tails777 and B********64. I'd like to add on that Dry Bowser is a completely separate boss fight from Bowser in his debut appearance.
  5. Burningdragon25 (talk) Cat Peach is Peach's transformation when she collects the Super Bell and I don't think we can create that so, no creation on this case!
  6. SmokedChili (talk) I can understand giving different forms their own articles, but character articles based on those power-up articles are too much imo (yes, even Metal Mario (character)). It would be too redundant when this article already covers all characters who turn into cats thanks to the Super Bell.
  7. Magikrazy (talk) Per everyone on this and the Tanooki Mario proposal.
  8. SuperYoshiBros (talk) Per Magikrazy.
  9. Walkazo (talk) - I think this would be going too far. The rules are changing a bit now that DLC means Nintendo doesn't have to be so choosy about who they include: we'll probably see more and more alt forms of characters in spinoffs now, and it's going to get silly if they all get pages. I feel like moving forward, if duplicates of characters appear in sport/kart games, that alone shouldn't be enough to split them, like how we don't give every SSB palette swap a page despite the fact they can all coexist too. As for our existing pages, Metal Mario also exists independently as a boss in Dr. Mario 64, and Dry Bowser gets a page using the same logic that sees things like Dark Fawful split - which is that splitting the boss info up makes it easier for readers to find and understand. But there's a threshold when partitioning stops being more convenient, and I think we've reached it here.
  10. Mario (talk) Cat Peach isn't a distinct character as outlined above. If she gets more distinct playable appearances, then I'll reconsider.
  11. Boo4761 (talk) No way, it's just stupid clone cat bell form. And we would have to create other articles like Stone Leaf Toad.
  12. Glitchy Bowser Jr. (talk) It's a powerup and unlike Metal Mario isn't a distinct character appearing in multiple games. It just wouldn't have enough info to be disntict from the Cat Mario page, What would it even say? "Cat Peach is a DLC character in Mario Kart 8 with slightly less weight." would be the whole article and that alone isn't enough to warrant an article.

BabyLuigi64, Baby Rosalina appear only one time and she have her own article, same go to Pink Gold Peach.--LudwigVon Sig.png(TALK) 16:14, 7 April 2015 (EDT)

That's not the same situation. Those two are separate characters based off of another, but they have unique traits (i.e. Pink Gold Peach is made of... well, pink gold, and Baby Rosalina is an infant version of Rosalina). They were not ever seen as alternate forms of those characters, and many characters and other things (such as many recipes in the Paper Mario series, as well as many enemies in New Super Mario Bros.) have only ever had one appearance. The reason the character and form are together here is because they are identical and have not had enough appearances to establish a separate Cat Peach character. When I go see Dry Bowser's archive, I saw that he was separate from Bowser around the time Mario Kart Wii was release, one game after he appear in New Super Mario Bros. as Bowser himself (They didn't wait until Dry Bowser appear enough time). Here, Cat Peach can be separate from the Power-up article after one game she appear as Princess Peach's power-up form, why we will need to wait she appear enough time? We have Princess Peach and Cat Peach in Mario Kart 8, they are separate.--LudwigVon Sig.png(TALK) 17:08, 7 April 2015 (EDT)

Baby Luigi, Dry Bowser was not a separate boss from Bowser, it was Bowser himself. When Bowser fall in the lava in World 1-Castle, Bowser transform in Dry Bowser and was re-battle in World 8-Castle.--LudwigVon Sig.png(TALK) 08:08, 8 April 2015 (EDT)

Then there is Mario Party: Island Tour, the Mario & Sonic series, Super Mario 3D Land. Your only listing the two games where Bowser turned into Dry Bowser. Dry Bowser has separated himself as a character way more than Cat Peach and Tanooki Mario have. Sprite of Yoshi's stock icon from Super Smash Bros. Yes, but like I say, Dry Bowser's article was create when Mario Kart Wii was released, we know that Dry Bowser was not the same, it was separate from Bowser, because the game have Bowser and Dry Bowser, it was not a palette swap from Bowser. In Mario Kart 8, it's the same thing, Cat Peach is separate from Princess Peach, it's not a palette swap from Princess Peach. Why we will need to wait if we already know that Cat Peach is a separate character (not a palette swap) from Princess Peach? Why we need to wait enough time that Cat Peach appear as a character, we have evidence.--LudwigVon Sig.png(TALK) 10:20, 8 April 2015 (EDT)

Burningdragon25, in Mario Kart 8, we have Princess Peach and Cat Peach separate, this is not a Princess Peach transform with the Cat Suit from Super Mario 3D World not even a palette swap.--LudwigVon Sig.png(TALK) 10:20, 8 April 2015 (EDT)
Tails777 has already clarified that maybe the creation of the Dry Bowser article was too early. After all, nobody is perfect, so not all decisions ever made on the wiki were the best ones. Ideally, the Dry Bowser article should have come much later, but it can stay because he's appeared more now.
