Waluigi Talk

Purple Puzzle

Should we note about the Purple puzzle thing In Super Mario 64 DS?Luigi's battle stanceLuigi3000It could probably go under Trivia. This question was put in archives when it was 2 dats old.

That Waluigi thing in Super Mario 64 DS is just a april fools day joke. Kingfawful4321 (talk) 22:16, 23 January 2013 (EST)

Waluigi's symbol

Is it Wario or Mario? I think a strong arugment could be made for Wario, since he is opposite him all the time Purplebackpack89 23:13, 2 August 2009 (EDT)

Relationship to Wario

I think a very new Mario Series Game gives us a source so that we definitely can say that Wario isn't Waluigi's Brother: In "Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games", you can find an information sheet saying: "Wario and Waluigi are no brothers, they are just good friends." As this is the newest information about their relationship, that could be considered as the right one.Ludwig van Koopa

I think you should find a screenshot for us. Also, in the relation to Wario section, it says that his Melee trophy says that he is not Wario's brother, but then I scroll down to his trophy and it doesn't even mention Wario.
— The preceding unsigned comment was added by A Link to the Present (talk). I think they are brothers. Mario and Luigi are brothers and they are the opposite of them which makes Wario and Waluigi brothers. They are Mario and Luigi's cousins.

Full Name

Where was it confirmed that Waluigi's full name is "Waluigi Wicked"? 'Cause if it's not confirmed and some troll put it there, I'd remove it. Lemmy Koopa Fan (talk)

What I discovered in the trivia

Waluigi didn't have an infant form. But Daisy does. I hope that someday that can get removed.

Baby Waluigi?

So, I was recently on eBay and stumbled that quite a few sellers are selling plushies of Baby Waluigi... yet there does not exist a Baby Waluigi in the game world yet... perhaps this could be a trivia piece for now that plushies of Baby Waluigi exist but yet Baby Waluigi has never even been in any sort of title.~ Exodecai

They're probably not official, seeing as Baby Waluigi has never appeared and is only fanon at this point. YoshiwakerTyranitar.png
probably right, but it was just really interesting that there would even be plushies of Baby Waluigi at all... and it certainly looks official! Comes with the tags and everything. It's a damn good fake if someone made it! ~ Exodecai
I checked online, that baby waluigi plush is a fake. just like the baby wario, hammer bro, and dry bones(:()are too to name a couple.they are REALLY well made fakes tho. gotta give props to the maker tho.--[User:16-Volt 18:17, 27 October 2011 (EDT)

Yeah, there is SOOOOOOOO not a baby Waluigi, and I don't think there should be, but we can't put unlicensed fakes in the trivia section. Sorry.

What? Why is this information here? I believe this was discussed in the forums, and from what we have learned - this plush is most likely a fake. Edits on the page

I´m new to this wiki, but i think we could add a lot more to the part of the page that talks about personality. It talks about how he is a comic relief character, oveconfident, easily angered and sore loser. The self-pity version is very small. The page could use a lot more work. I propose a description like this:

"As a sharp contrast to Luigi´s kindness and friendly demeanor, Waluigi is constantly angry and bitter. He is, apparently, overconfident and narcissistic. This is shown especially in his victory animations, when he is extremely quick to cheer for himself and break into victory dances. Waluigi, like Wario, is also shown to be greedy and lacking in self-higiene. He is also vulgar, as demonstrated in his victory animations. Older bios claimed that Waluigi was a bit more of a coward than his bro, this being the reason why he waited until Mario Tennis to introduce himself.

Waluigi is a very strange character. Apparently he tends to engage in odd activities like spying on Luigi and dancing by himself. He mostly displays a very strange assortment of powers and abilities, and talks in third-person, senseless mumbling. This is demonstrated in Mario and Sonic At The London Olympic Games and Fortune Street, during his in-game dialogues. Waluigi is also a comic relief character, with comical and over the top animations. According to Wario´s Warehouse, Wario claims Waluigi to be extremely stupid, often making idiotical and nonsensical decisions. While it is true that Waluigi is extremely klutzy, prone to fits of senseless rage and sometimes forgets the common sense, he is not stupid. The Mario Tennis 64 japanese website claims Waluigi to be smarter than Wario, and prefers to use his brains over his brawn. He, apparently, was the designer behind Waluigi Pinball and is, apparently, a competent leader, seeing as he has Piranha Plants working for him in Waluigi Island.

Waluigi is primarily defined by two of his many characteristics. The first one is his hostility. Waluigi is an extremely hostile character. Waluigi seems to have terrible chemistry with pretty much everyone except Wario. He is openly rude and never misses the chance to do something mean-spirited. He seems to take an disturbing glee whenever he does something of a bad nature. In Mario Strikers Charged, he was not only openly rude, but seemed to have little care for the well-being of his opponents, going to the point of greatly injuring them simply because he won. In Dance Dance Revolution: Mario Mix, Waluigi himself says that his reason for obtaining the Music Keys is to control the world and spread chaos across the Mushroom Kingdom.

The second trait is his self-pity. Waluigi is a very unpopular figure in the Mushroom Kingdom. As seen in Fortune Street, most characters despise him or greatly dislike him. Many Toads are seen to be repulsed by him. When he first came out, Waluigi´s motivations were to become as popular and as beloved as the Mario Brothers. Nowadays, his motivation is to be a thorn on everyone´s side and take over the world. According to Charles Martinet, Waluigi feels that all the good things are happening to everyone but him, and this causes great frustration. According to the trophy description in Super Smash Bros Melee, Waluigi works and dedicates himself very hard towards his schemes and his antagonism towards his rivals, but never seems to succeed. He´s also often seen cursing over his losses, claiming the others to be cheaters and promising revenge. According to the dialogue in Mario and Sonic At The London Olympic Games, Waluigi believes that, once he defeats Luigi, people will actually start to like him and he will become " the greatest Superstar in the world".

Also, i think we should add a bit about the etymology not only behind his name, but the symbol on his hat. The gamma, reverse L. It actually conveys a lot about Waluigi´s character. The symbol represents two things: the way how he is an extreme and reverse counterpart to Luigi who loathes the existence of his rival, and the letter Gamma. Gamma represents probability and uncertainty. However, it´s also said that gamma represents the lowest of the autonomous working classes, given just enough individuality and social skills to interact with their superiors, Alpha and Beta. Such is Waluigi. A being who has just enough social contacts ( Mario and company. he gets invited to parties after all because he is Wario´s brother/friend/partner) to have interactions, but who is despised by all of them. He is doomed to suffer as a loathed, low-class citizen ( in Fortune Street, he only ranks C. In Nintendo Monopoly, he is only worth 60 $) who everyone hates or avoids, but who has just enough individuality and character to stand out and be tortured by this.

Giantpants 22:16, 23 December 2013

It's too late in the night for me to properly go over everything, but regarding gamma, I can say with certainty you're overanalyzing there at least. and last I checked, that tends to result in "flowery writing", i.e. a point being made in a lengthy and inconcise manner (way more words than needed, specifically).
Focusing on the gamma issue: Waluigi is to Luigi as Wario is to Mario; 'M' rotated 180 degrees becomes 'W', and 'L' being rotated the same way becomes Waluigi's emblem. That serves as a symbol of the rivalry between each bro (for sake of perspective, 'wa' literally means bad in Japanese, making Waluigi a 'Bad Luigi'). As such, anything relating to the Greek letter is more or less speculation based off coincidence, which is also discouraged here due to a 'slippery slope' sort of thing that opens the door for too many theories with little solid basis; more than anything, this is due to the wiki's goal of being a Mario encyclopedia, and encyclopedias by their very design tend to avoid unsourced material, "original research, etc. Basically, they only work with sources, to put it simply.
Again, I'm unsure about the rest of this, I'll check later when I have the energy (assuming no one beats me to it), but the 'gamma theory' seems very shaky at best. Lord Grammaticus (talk) 04:24, 30 December 2013 (E
Big edit right there, but I have to side with Lord Grammaticus here. Stuff like "Apparently he tends to engage in odd activities like spying on Luigi and dancing by himself." "He is doomed to suffer as a loathed, low-class citizen" is too dark and Shadow Queen-ly for this, not to mention subjective. This is the kind of writing we avoid here. Remember, this is a comic relief fictional character with a spiteful, yet self-pitying personality, more or less.

Before I cause an edit conflict (again)

How is what I added unneeded? Isn't the point of a "trivia" section to put "trivia" or fun-facts? Isn't it as evenly needed as "Dr. Ivo Robotnik, along with Miles "Tails" Prower and Amy Rose, are the only major characters in the Sonic series to have formal names." (from the page Dr. Eggman) or "This is the second game not to feature Luigi, Princess Peach, or Toad and the second Super Mario title (with Super Mario Bros. 2 being the first) not to feature Bowser." (from the page Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins)? I dunno. Maybe I'm stupid. If so, tell me why. Peanutjon (talk) 17:48, 7 April 2014 (EDT)

Because it's obvious, you can gather that info from reading the page. The stuff you mentioned above should also be removed. Yoshi876 (talk)
...that's not exactly a good reason... Peanutjon (talk) 17:52, 7 April 2014 (EDT)
It kinda of is, as you said in your post "Isn't the point of a "trivia" section to put "trivia" or fun-facts?", those are not fun facts, those are just plain normal facts that are completely unnecessary. Yoshi876 (talk)
Still doesn't seem like a good reason. Peanutjon (talk) 17:56, 7 April 2014 (EDT)
It may not seem it, but it is. Those are just excuses to find similarities between things and shove in trivia sections. Yoshi876 (talk)

Waluigi represents the "Wario" Series in Smash now

YU1mjO7.jpg

Waluigi represented the Mario series in Brawl... but now represents the Wario series in Sm4sh... could this be hinting to a possible future role for Waluigi in the Wario series?

dick dastardly and waluigi

Should we add that dick dastardly from the wacky racers resembles waluigi because they both are mean and bad they both have a long nose and a evil mustache and they both wear a purple hat plus they both cheat
— The preceding unsigned comment was added by ‎Fawfulsmile123 (talk).

No, it's just a passing resemblance, if there were official sources stating that one influenced the design of the other then it could be. But seeing as there's not it shouldn't be mentioned. Yoshi876 (talk)

Trivia Mistake

Look a this sentence in the Trivia of Waluigi.

  • In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U, Waluigi is described as from the Wario series, despite not appearing in a single Wario game. This was later changed, as seen in his trophy icon in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS.

I think it's a mistake, it should be:
