Template:Infobox Super Smash Bros. Brawl is an upcoming fighting game for the Nintendo Wii. It is the third game in the Super Smash Bros. Series, the sequel to Super Smash Bros. and Super Smash Bros. Melee. It is scheduled to be released in the United States in 2007.
It has been confirmed that the game will make use of the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.
Gameplay
Shigeru Miyamoto and Masahiro Sakurai, the director of the game, confirmed that the game would have full compatibility with the GameCube controller. Sakurai stated that the reason was because he did not want to "alienate those familiar with the pad." Whether or not it will take advantage of the Wii Remote was not stated. Notably, the icon for the gameplay section on the official website of the game is a symbol of a Wii Remote. [1]
A new battle mechanic will be the Final Smash, that is triggered by the collection of a Smash Ball. Another new battle mechanic is that players will be able to walk and jump while using projectile-shooting items, like the Super Scope.
