Captain Toad starts on a lower part of the stage where he must walk around the corner and use a switch to raise a platform to the next level. Here, he can find three Turnips and a Ladder which leads to the Shy Guy and a pickaxe. The pickaxe can break a number of stone blocks, revealing a garden of plants with a Super Mushroom and/or a secret area with a Gold Mushroom worth 50 coins. They can also use a switch to raise the play structure to access the star.

- Diamond 1: In an alcove near the spawn. Captain Toad can use a ramp to reach it.
- Diamond 2: In a plant by the first switch.
- Diamond 3: Given by Blue Toad. He can be found next to the playground after it is raised.
