Really, it's not that it couldn't be, it's that there's a lot of games with super-powerful meteor attacks (most start with the letter Final Fantasy). Since this is Square we're talking about, and they've borrowed heavily from D&D since the original FF and built off that, who's to say they're not just continuing an established pattern as opposed to directly referencing? Really, it's not that it couldn't be, it's that there's a lot of games with super-powerful meteor attacks (most start with the letter Final Fantasy). Since this is Square we're talking about, and they've borrowed heavily from D&D since the original FF and built off that, who's to say they're not just continuing an established pattern as opposed to directly referencing?
