Nope, that's not where it came from. I originally wanted to go with something that was interesting, but not just another instance of your average, everyday username. I finally settled on the (presumably) simple yet understated "Phoenix"...though whether or not that adequately accomplishes what I was trying to do is kinda in the eye of the beholder, I guess. I was going for the legendary mythical bird (wanting to let the name sorta speak for itself), but only after choosing that username did I realize just how many different things it made reference to, directly or indirectly. However, that's one that never occurred to me (I've never actually played any F-Zero games before).
