Soda Lake is an underwater level that can be reached by the Cheese Bridge in the game Super Mario World. Once Mario beats the level, he can open up a path to Star Road. Additionally, Soda Lake is the only level with the enemy known as Torpedo Ted.
It is not known if Soda Lake is actually soda. (Cheese Bridge isn't made of cheese, for example.) Since the water is clear, it is either plain water or soda water (carbonated water), not soda pop.
Appearances in Other Media
Though never named as such, what could possibly be Soda Lake appeared in the episodes "King Scoopa Koopa" and "Mama Luigi" of the Super Mario World animated series. Like Soda Lake, this body of water had Torpedo Teds, Rip Van Fish and Dolphins in it.
