Captain Goomba is an oversized Goomba in Mario Party 8. He appears at the end of Goomba's Booty Boardwalk and gives characters free Stars if they reach him. As his name implies, he is a captain of a ship and has a few Pirate Goombas serving under him.
In Star Battle Arena, he still gives characters Stars, though they need 50 coins. In this mode, getting a Star is the key to winning the battle. However, if characters arrive with less than 50 coins, Captain Goomba will let them hit a Coin Block in a Coin Block Area he gives to the player (who doesn't have 50 coins yet) to get coins (but it only has 1, 5, and 10 on it and if you roll a 1, 5, or 10 you get that number coins).
