- “You ready, son? I'll zap you to the Gloomy Manor with my new and largely untested Pixelator! Let's hope all of the pixels make it this time. Heh heh...”
- —Professor Elvin Gadd, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon
The Pixelator (known as the Pixelshifter in PAL versions) is one of Professor Elvin Gadd's many machines. It helps Luigi on his quest to piece together the Dark Moon in Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon. E. Gadd uses it to transport Luigi to all the different mansions in the game. At the start of the game, E. Gadd uses it to transport Luigi through his TV to E. Gadd's Bunker. There is a camera out front and several within each Mansion that are connected to the Pixelator. Luigi is sent through the Pixelator and out of these cameras.
A prototype of the Pixelator is found in every mansion after Gloomy Manor. This has to be activated manually from the Prototypes screen itself. Luigi uses these Prototypes to send Toad assistants back to E. Gadd's Bunker.
