Gemstones are objects found in Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon. There are a total of thirteen gemstones hidden in each mansion, adding to a total of sixty-five gemstones in the entire game. Unlike the diamonds in the original game, gemstones do not function as a form of currency, but rather as a collectible. Once a player has collected all thirteen gemstones inside a specific mansion, they will be rewarded with a statue of Luigi with the gemstones encrusted in the stand. The player can view which gemstones they have collected and the statues inside the Vault or by accessing the information via the mansion select screen.

Some gemstones can be obtained on any mission, while some can only be obtained on a specific condition or when certain conditions have been met.

Amethysts

	Round Amethyst	A-1, A-2, A-3, A-4, A-5, A-Bonus	Mudroom Exterior - In the Mudroom, the player should use their Strobe Light on the right door to open it. When they are outside they'll need to vacuum this gem down from the trees at the end of the path.
	Trillion Amethyst	A-1, A-2, A-3, A-4, A-5, A-Bonus	Front Yard - Use your Strobe Light on the flowers.
	Baguette Amethyst	A-2, A-3, A-4, A-5, A-Bonus	Parlor - Use your Strobe Light on the clock.
	Football Amethyst	A-2, A-3, A-4, A-5, A-Bonus	Studio - The player should look into the camera to notice the gem hidden behind the left-most curtains.
	Drop Amethyst	A-3, A-Bonus	Entrance - The player should press X near the right suit of armor to knock down its helmet. The player can then use the helmet to hit a painting on the left wall.
	Pebble Amethyst	A-3, A-4, A-5, A-Bonus	Dining Room - The player needs to use the Strobe Light on a safe in the ceiling.
	Rhombus Amethyst	A-3, A-4, A-5, A-Bonus	Kitchen - The player should interact with the stove (walk up to it and press X) in order to start up a fire. Then, the player should open the fridge to reveal this gem frozen in ice. The player can melt the ice using the stove's open flames.
	Star Amethyst	A-3, A-4, A-5, A-Bonus	Foyer - In the Common Hall, the player should go to the end of the hall and use the Dark Light to reveal a hidden door. The door will lead to the Patio. In the Patio, the player can reveal another door along the left wall using the Dark Light. The player should enter the door to be in a new area (Under the Stairs). The player should then take the door on the left to be taken to the Foyer (behind the fish tank), where the Amethyst can be found.
	Octagon Amethyst	A-3, A-4, A-5, A-Bonus	Patio - The player should use the Dark Light to reveal a hidden fountain next to the other two in the water.
	Oval Amethyst	A-3, A-4, A-5, A-Bonus	Library - The player should use the Dark Light to reveal a hidden ball along the left wall. The player can then take the ball to the fireplace to reveal the gem.
	Spindle Amethyst	A-2, A-3, A-4, A-5, A-Bonus	Study - The player needs to pull down the left-most curtains on the back wall. Then the player will need to shine the Dark Light on the painting to reveal the gem.
	Coffin Amethyst	A-5, A-Bonus	Rafters - This gem is on top of a dresser on the far-right side of the area. The player can vacuum it down easily.
	Mushroom Amethyst	A-5, A-Bonus	Bedroom - Burn the giant web, then run behind it to find this Amethyst.

	Football Emerald	B-2 The Pinwheel Gate	Botany Lab - Activate the machine, fill the bucket with water, water the plant and flash it.
	Drop Emerald	B-2 The Pinwheel Gate	Seedling Laboratory - Use the potato shooter to shoot the mouse.
	Pebble Emerald	B-3 Graveyard Shift	Tower Lobby - Reveal invisible pipes on the left, activate pump, reveal invisible door at the base of the stairs, shoot a spiked ball at the Piranha Plant.
	Rhombus Emerald	B-3 Graveyard Shift	Hollow Tree - Light a ball of web, go through the left alcove, grab the bucket, fill it, and water the flower in the right alcove.
	Star Emerald	B-3 Graveyard Shift	Old Cemetery - Hanging in a vine near the entrance, look up.
	Octagon Emerald	B-4 Pool Party	Skybridge - Suck up all hanging flowers, last one has the emerald.
	Oval Emerald	B-4 Pool Party	Rumpus Room - Walk slowly around the doll counter-clockwise until its head pops off.
	Spindle Emerald	B-4 Pool Party	Solarium - Reveal a chest on the empty table when walk in.
	Coffin Emerald	B-4 Pool Party	Conservatory - Float to the right side, reveal a door to a pocket dimension game, the prize is the gem.
	Mushroom Emerald	B-4 Pool Party	West Bathroom - Pull on the toilet paper roll.

	Coffin Ruby	C-5 Piece at Last	Service Elevator - Pick up the Yellow Toad and launch him to the other side, make him walk to the end and he'll give the gem.

	Pebble Sapphire	D-2 Hit Rock Bottom	Chalet Approach - Use a flaming turkey to melt the ice, then shine the Dark-Light Device at the framed sketch.
	Rhombus Sapphire	D-2 Hit Rock Bottom	Prospector's Crossing - Reveal the missing pickaxe and spin it. Carry both logs onto the ice.
	Star Sapphire	D-2 Hit Rock Bottom	Skip Slope - Slide through the spinning wheel near the west wall.
	Octagon Sapphire	D-2 Hit Rock Bottom	Shaft - Pull the chain at the base of the Shaft, then ride back up to find the Gem.
	Oval Sapphire	D-2 Hit Rock Bottom	Deep Hall - Ignite a piece of coal, then launch it at the Gem in the ceiling.
	Spindle Sapphire	D-3 Across the Chasm	Crossroads - Reveal the cart on the west ledge and vacuum the snow mound inside it.
	Coffin Sapphire	D-3 Across the Chasm	Chalet - Use the Crystal Quarry E-Gate to drop onto the Chalet couch.
	Mushroom Sapphire	D-3 Across the Chasm	High Wires - Reach the outhouse and complete the bonus challenge within it.
