Another concern would be how many items the player already had. If they had two items and bought the Item Bag without noticing, they would only receive one new item, since one player could only carry three items total.

The Item Bag as seen from Mario Party 4.

An Item Bag is an item in Mario Party 4 that contained three random items. It had a big question mark on it. The cost of an item bag was often 30 (thirty) coins, which would leave the player in a big world of choice. For instance, purchase three items, but wait three turns to do so, or purchase the Item Bag for more money? The biggest concern was what would be INSIDE the bag. It could've been three Mushrooms, maybe a mushroom and two Skeleton Keys, or rarely, something special like a Genie Lamp.

Another concern would be how many items the player already had. If they had two items and bought the Item Bag without noticing, they would only receive one new item, since one player could only carry three items total.
