A '''Star Medal''' is an item found in ''[[Super Paper Mario]]''. They can only be acquired by purchasing them at [[Howzit]]'s shop at [[Flipside]] for fifty [[coin]]s. When used, it gives the [[Player]] 1,000 [[Point]]s, which is immediately added to their score (3,000 if the [[Speed Flower]] or [[Slow Flower]] is used).
''Star Medals'' are octagonal golden medals that can be collected by the [[player]] that appear in [[Super Mario 3D Land]] and [[Super Mario Galaxy 2]]. In Super Mario 3D Land, there are three in each level and can be used to unlock even more levels. In Super Mario Galaxy 2, however, there is only one in each galaxy and when the player collects them, it can mean a [[Prankster Comet]] can reach that galaxy with the collected Star Medal.
 
[[Gold Medal]]s are a stronger variety of the Star Medal, which add ten thousand Points to the Player's score, but cost five-hundred coins each.
 
Using these is beneficial as points serve as the player's [[EXP]] points in the game.

Star Medals are octagonal golden medals that can be collected by the player that appear in Super Mario 3D Land and Super Mario Galaxy 2. In Super Mario 3D Land, there are three in each level and can be used to unlock even more levels. In Super Mario Galaxy 2, however, there is only one in each galaxy and when the player collects them, it can mean a Prankster Comet can reach that galaxy with the collected Star Medal.
