Slipstreaming (also known as Drafting) is a technique often used in the Mario Kart series like Mario Kart 64, Mario Kart DS Mario Kart Wii and Mario Kart 7. If a player trails behind another racer for a certain period of time the kart receives a temporary speed boost. This can be used to ram the kart the player is slipstreaming behind and is also useful to use when another player is shrunk by a Lightning Bolt.
