The name is a pun on "Armageddon", the location in which the Bible states will be where the final battle between Jesus Christ and Satan at the end of time will occur, as well as a term used to refer to any end of the world scenario.
The minigame is played in Shroom City when the player arrives at Mushroom Beacon. There, Blooper challenges the player to this minigame; victory results in winning Hammergeddon in Play Land.
