The Great Deflate is a 2-vs.-2 minigame in Mario Party 4. Its name comes from the term "the great debate'.
Players must Ground Pound an inflatable, blue Thwomp made of rubber enough to completely deflate it. The higher the jump before the Pound, the more air gets deflated. The first team to completely deflate their Thwomp wins.
It is unknown if the inflatable Thwomps appearing in this minigame are organic, conscious beings or simply inflatable toys made especially for the minigame. However, they do make a grunting noise upon hitting the ground at the start of the game, plus, they have a full face. When they are ground pounded the Thwomps start to go down until they are squashed.
